Fairfax Media was a media company in Australia and New Zealand, with investments in newspaper, magazines, radio and digital properties. The Fairfax family retained control of the business until late in the 20th century. The company also owned several regional and national Australian newspapers, including The Age , Australian Financial Review and Canberra Times , majority stakes in property business Domain Group and the Macquarie Radio Network , and joint ventures in streaming service Stan and online publisher HuffPost Australia. Ghosting is a colloquial term which describes the practice of ending all communication and contact with a partner, friend, or similar individual without any apparent warning or justification and subsequently ignoring any attempts to reach out or communication made by said person. In the following decade, media reported a rise in ghosting, which has been attributed to the increasing use of social media and online dating apps. The term is used in the context of online exchanges,  and became popular by through many articles on high-profile celebrity relationship dissolutions,   and went on to be widely used. It has been the subject of many articles  and discussions  on dating and relationships in various media.
