Every July for 7 years now, the lavender fields of Brihuega, Spain become a natural stage for sunset concerts. Festival de La Lavanda is possibly one of my greatest Secret Spain tips yet. But I had only a faint idea of the surprises this beautiful country had in store for me. But where exactly is Brihuega, and why should you visit? A rather significant amount, once you put it into perspective. Brihuega is a small but very nice Spanish village.

I have done lots of research on the lavender fields and routes. I am trying to narrow down my trip to specific weekends in July or August that work with my calendar. Can you give advise on which of these 3 specific weekends have the better festivals? Aug 6 - 7 Valreas or Euzet les Bains. Will I be missing out on seeing any lavender fields still in bloom if I go in August, or do I risk that they will be harvested by then? August is easier on my calendar, but if any of those specific July festivals are "the best" - or - if I risk that the lavender will be already harvested by August and the festival is just a celebration, then I will make July work.
